Whether you drink it alone in a glass after a long day of work or share a bottle with a group of friends in the midst of a celebration, red wine stains will always be there. You probably spilled it all over your white blouse, a friend’s sofa, or it’s even more possible that someone splashed it all over your upholstery.
But Don’t You Worry! Thankfully, our handy little cheat sheet will get you out of trouble. Here we give you a how-to guide so you don’t have to switch sides to the white wine team.
How to remove red wine stains from clothes
Did you spill red wine over your favorite pair of pants? Don’t even think about throwing it away! If you’re lucky enough and the stain is still fresh, you should start the removal process as soon as possible.
In case you’re in a rush and you have to remove red wine stains from clothes that you’re wearing at that moment, we recommend placing a cloth in between the garment and your skin. Now you can rub the garment using a sponge with cool water until you have the time to put it in the washing machine.
When that time comes, douse the red wine stain with stain remover: don’t be shy and use as much as you want. Then, let it sit for five to ten minutes. If after washing it the stain has not faded completely, soak the garment in very cold water and laundry stain remover. Finally, wash it in warm water with fabric-safe bleach.
How to remove red wine out of upholstery
Unfortunately, light-colored upholstery is not red wine’s best friend. These stains can be really hard to remove from furniture, so you must act fast.
You should start the cleaning process as soon as you notice them. Firstly start by mixing half a tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of cool water. Use this to then rub the stain thoroughly with the mixture. Soak up the area with a dry cloth, sponge it with cold water and let it dry.
How to remove red wine stains from your carpet
Did a careless guest drop a glass of wine on your carpet? Take a big breath and proceed to take our advice.
Blot as much spilled wine as you can. You can use an absorbent cloth to make the task easier. Soak the red wine stain with some wine remover and let it rest for a few minutes. When the stain is gone, be sure to remove the rest of the spot with a damp cloth.
If the stain persists, there’s nothing quite like white vinegar to make it disappear for good. Mix 1/2 tsp white vinegar, 1/2 tsp dish liquid, and 2 cups of warm water. With that mixture, you are ready to succeed. Rinse the carpet with a spray brush or damp cloth, and voila!
It’s no secret that our everyday life routine keeps us all busy to spend that much time removing red wine stains. If that’s your case, you might need a little help from experts. We are here for you! Do you have questions? We’ve got the answers!
